James A. Connolly, Jr.
James A. Connolly, Jr. died on Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at Saint Mary Medical Center, Langhorne. He was 81.
Born and raised in Philadelphia, he moved north and became an original Levittown homeowner in Middletown Township.
Mr. Connolly was an engineer/designer for the Department of Defense with the Philadelphia Arsenal and later with the Picatinny Arsenal in Morris County, New Jersey.
He was a member of Queen of the Universe Parish, Levittown. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Ancient Order of Hibernians of Bristol Borough.
Mr. Connolly served proudly in the US Army during the Korean War.
He was very proud to have dual citizenship in both the United States and Ireland. Mr. Connolly had a private pilot's license.
Beloved husband of the late Lorraine (Tiernan) and father of the late James T., Mr. Connolly was the loving father of Colleen M. of Glendora, NJ He will also be sadly missed by several nieces, nephews and family in County Kerry, Ireland. Mr. Connolly was the brother of the late Francis, Gerard and John Connolly and Marcella Ferry.
Family and friends are invited to call on Saturday, September 14, 2013, from 9:30 until 10:30 am at Queen of the Universe Church, 2443 Trenton Road, Levittown where his funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:30 am. The Rite of Committal will follow in Resurrection Cemetery.
