Peggie E. (Hill) Arnold

Peggie E. (Hill) Arnold, 66, of San Diego, CA, formerly of Paxton, died August 11, 2013 at home after a courageous battle with cancer.

A graveside memorial will be held on Saturday, September 21, 2013, at 10:30 a.m. at Glen Cemetery in Paxton. Arrangements are being handled by Baier Family Funeral Services, Paxton.

Peggie was born in Paxton on October 10, 1946 to the late Leonard L. Hill and Frances Grace (Shorb) Hill. She married Dennis Arnold on Nov 4, 1967. He preceded her in death in 2004.

Peggie and Dennis lived in Champaign-Urbana and Peoria, Illinois before moving to San Diego. Peggie was a graduate of Paxton High School and had a long career in the insurance industry. She recently retired from DIS Insurance where she worked as an underwriter and office manager for many years.

Peggie was greatly admired and loved by her family, friends, co-workers and associates. A memorial service was held in California on August 19, 2013.

Peggie is survived by her sister, Marcia (Chris) Berry of Claremont, Calif, their daughter, Annie Berry of Washington, DC, their son Tom (Denise) Berry of Claremont, Calif. Also surviving are her step-father, Clinton Brown of Paxton, father-in-law, Glenn Arnold (Kim) of Sarasota, Florida, sister-in-law, Robin (Arnold) Strater of Indianapolis and her daughter, Rian (Strater) Roland of Chicago.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her dearly loved mother-in-law, Ella Mae (Stanford) Arnold.

Memorials may be made to the Ludlow United Methodist Church Youth Camp Fund in honor of Peggie & Dennis Arnold at 304 W. Thomas St., Ludlow, Illinois 60949
