HE WAS A MEMBER OF THE VFW AND LONGTIME MEMBER OF THE LOUISIANA CATTLEMAN'S ASSOCIATION. HE GREW UP IN A TIME OF ECONOMIC DEPRESSION AND LOOMING WORLD WAR WHERE LUXURIES SUCH AS TV, ELECTRICITY AND INDOOR PLUMBING WERE NOT AN OPTION FOR STRUGGLING POOR FAMILIES AS HUNTING, FISHING, TRAPPING AND VEGETABLE GARDENS WERE A NECESSITY, NOT A HOBBIE. HIS BOYHOOD DAYS DEFINED HIS CHARACTER IN HIS COMMITMENT TO FEED, CLOTH AND PROVIDE FOR HIS WIFE AND THEIR SONS AND MAINTAIN STRONG TIES WITH HIS BROTHERS SISTERS AND COUSINS FOR HIS ENTIRE LIFE.

THE FAMILY WOULD LIKE TO EXPRESS SINCERE THANKS TO JOURNEY HOSPICE OF HOUMA AND STAFF DENA, PATSY AND SHANNA FOR THEIR SUPPORT AND CAREGIVING IN OUR TIME OF NEED, AND ASK THAT IN LIEU OF FLOWERS, DONATIONS BE DIRECTED TO THAT ORGANIZATION.
