Alice L. Arwezon, age 82, of Fremont passed away on Saturday, August 31, 2013, at Fountain View Retirement Village in Fremont. Alice was born on April 24, 1931, to John L. and Doris E. (Young) Thompson and married Robert “Bob” Arwezon Jr. on December 21, 1956. Alice was a 1949 graduate of Creston High School, member of the National Honors Society and Creston High School Alumni Association. She furthered her education at Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri and then at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. Alice taught school in Lima Peru after college and then moved to Alaska in 1962 where she became an Administrative Assistant for the United States Customs Service, retiring in 1993. She loved the outdoors and raised and raced sled dogs for many years.
Alice is survived by her brothers, Charles (Sandee) Thompson of White Cloud and Wayne Thompson also of White Cloud; and several cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob on February 22, 2005.
