Sis. Carrie Mae Copeland was born September 14, 1936 in Shiloh, GA to the late Charlie Bryant and Rosie M. Atkinson. Sis. Copeland departed this life September 1, 2013 at her home surrounded by her loved ones.
Sis. Carrie Copeland devoted her life to Christ early in life at the Bethel C.M.E. Church in Shiloh, GA later moving her membership to Bethlehem Baptist Church. She was a dedicated and faithful member of the Bethlehem Baptist Church in Pine Mountain Valley, GA. Sis. Copeland served as the Director of the Youth Choir for many years and she served as Bethlehem Baptist Church Recording Secretary.
Sis. Copeland loved baking, traveling, quilting and singing.
She was united in holy matrimony on August 10, 1953 to James Copeland Sr. To this glorious union ten children were born. She is preceded in death by two sons James Copeland Jr. and Wilbur Copeland.
She leaves to cherish her memory a loving and devoted husband James Copeland Sr; six loving daughters DeLorce Copeland, Teressa Lynn Copeland (Thomas) Dumas, Carol Copeland, Agnes Copeland (Raymond) Resse-Brown, Barbara Copeland, Alzadie (Stephen) Copeland-Grier; two devoted sons Alvin Lamar Copeland and Clinton (Voncea) Copeland; one sister Diane Weems; two brothers Melvin Waller and Neal Atkinson; 21 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends who will miss her dearly.
