Bobbie Bard, 80, passed away Wednesday, August 28, 2013 at Putnam Hospital Center, Carmel, NY. A long-time resident of the Pawling area, he has resided in Dunnellon, FL for the past year. Born in Pawling on August 28, 1930, he was the son of Harry and Margaretta (Palmer) Bard. Bobbie married Joan Orton on October 29, 1950; she predeceased him on September 2, 2003. Bobbie served his country in the US Army during the Korean War. Before he retired in 1985, Bobbie had been a tool room supervisor for Lumelite in Pawling. Bobbie was a life-time member of the Harlem Valley Lodge F & AM. He is survived by his son Gary and his wife, Nancy, of Holmes; his sister, Martha Heady of Fort Pierce, FL; two grandchildren, Carol Bard of Holmes and Greg Bard of New Milford, CT; and two great-grandchildren. In addition to his wife, he is predeceased by his son, Glenn Bard, his daughter, Gail Gay, and his brother, Charles “Teddy” Bard. Friends and family may pay their respects at the Horn & Thomes, Inc. Funeral Home, 83 East Main Street, Pawling, NY Sunday, September 8th 1-3 PM. The Masons will conduct a service at the funeral home at 1 PM and a Memorial Service will be held at the funeral home at 2:30 PM. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
