Gretna…..William (Bill) Henry Overbey, age 82 of Gretna died Thursday, August 29, 2013 at Lynchburg General Hospital. Born February 26, 1931 in Pittsylvania County he was a son of the late Andrew Jackson Overbey and Sarah Hensley Overbey. He was predeceased by a son, Kyle Lee Overbey; his twin brother, Andrew Jackson Overbey, Jr.; and three sisters, Myrtle Moss, Ocie Bosiger, and Artie Overbey. Mr. Overbey was a retired meat cutter. He was a Navy veteran and an Army Veteran of Korea. Mr. Overbey was a member of the Odd Fellows, Sheva Church of Christ and American Legion Post 232. He enjoyed hunting, boating and fishing. He is survived by his wife, Ruby Marie Atkins Overbey of the residence; one daughter, Gayle Steinhardt of Baltimore; three grandchildren, Joey Dignazio III, Roxann Dignazio, and Kurt Hairstetter; and seven great-grandchildren, R.J., Skyler, Brendon, Bently, Brayln, Alex and Ally. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Sunday, September 1, 2013 at Colbert-Moran Chapel by Chris Stanley, Minister. Burial with Military Honors by the Virginia National Guard Honor Guard will follow in Carl O. Moran Memorial Garden. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 P.M. Saturday, August 31, 2013 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home. Colbert-Moran Funeral Home, Gretna is assisting the family. Condolences may be sent to the family by visiting
