Frances Lee Edwards, 99, of Macon, MO, passed away Thursday, August 29, 2013, at the Samaritan Hospital in Macon. Frances was born on January, 22, 1914, in Smith Mills, KY, the daughter of Roscoe and Anna Elizabeth (Culver) Shoulders. She was united in marriage to Malcolm Edwards on January 1, 1943, in Cape Girardeau, MO. Frances owned the Tansil-Grantges Department Store in La Plata, MO, and also the Edwards’ Ready-To-Wear Store in Salisbury, MO. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Macon, the Lydian Club, and enjoyed quilting and especially spending time with her family and grandchildren. Frances is survived by two children, Donna Ramsey of Macon, Jerry Edwards and his wife Zola of Macon, five grandchildren, Dianna Montoya and her husband Frank of Albuquerque, NM, Amy Thomas and her husband Mark of Macon, Brooke Foster and her husband Clay of Macon, Stephanie Avedon and her husband Joshua of Venice, CA, Abbie Chapman and her husband Chris of Phoenix, AZ, 12 great-grandchildren, Regan Thomas of New York City, NY, Chloe Thomas, Skyler Thomas, Ethan Foster, Avery Foster, and Delaney Foster, all of Macon, and Elias Avedon, Navi Avedon, and Sarit Avedon, all of Venice, Grant Chapman, Carson Chapman, and Reese Chapman, of Phoenix, one brother, R.J. Shoulders and his wife Mildred of Henderson, KY, and several cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one granddaughter, Jordan Thomas, one son-in-law, Richard Ramsey, and one daughter-in-law, Sharon (Saffell) Edwards. Funeral services will be 10:30 am, Tuesday, September 3, 2013, at the Greening-Eagan-Hayes Funeral Home in Macon with Dr. David Leslie officiating. Burial will be in the La Plata Cemetery in La Plata. Visitation will be from 9:30 – 10:30 am, Tuesday, at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials to the Loch Haven Nursing Home or the First Christian Church.
