Choe, Yong Ok Alton, 68, of Summerville, wife of Alvin J. Alton, passed away on Tuesday, August 27, 2013 at her residence.
Friends and family may call at James A. Dyal Funeral Home on Thursday, August 29, 2013 from 6 o’clock PM until Hour of Service. Funeral Services will begin at 8 o’clock PM. A crypt side service will be held at 12:30 o’clock on Friday, August 30, 2013 at Greenlawn Cemetery, in Columbia, SC.
Yong was born on February 16, 1945 in Seoul, Korea, daughter of the late Pyong Mun Choe and Kyong Sun (Chung) Choe. Yong loved being a mother and raising her two daughters. She was a member of Charleston Korean Truth Alliance Church.
Surviving in addition to her husband Alvin are: Two Daughters: Alvina J. Murray (Clyde) of Hanahan and Alvita A. Ward (Ryan) of Goose Creek; Two Grandchildren: Cydnie June Murray and soon to arrive, Caysen Jerome Murray; Two Brothers: Chang Won Choe (Me Ja) of Houston, TX, Chang Ii Choe (Kum Cha) of Charlotte, NC; Three Sisters: Chung Ok Susie Livingston (Robert) of Puyallup, WA, Yong Nan Kim of Columbia, SC and Sonmi Cassie Kang (Youngsang) of Puyallup, WA. She was predeceased by her sister, Yong Cha Bell, two brother in laws, Curtis Bell and Segun Kim.
