Ruth Eleanor Blanton

Sanbornville, NH

Ruth Eleanor Blanton, age 74, of Lovell Lake Road in Sanbornville, NH, passed away peacefully at home on August 25, 2013, after a brief illness.

She was born April 11, 1939 in New Hartford, CT, the daughter of Pauline L. (LeGeyt) and Roland Eckhart. While working in Meriden, CT, she met and married Neil S. Fogg, before moving to NH in 1957.

Ruth started her career as a nurses aide at Huggins Hospital in Wolfeboro, NH. Later, she started the first sheltered care home in the State of NH. She was active as a den mother in Cub Scouts, while raising her family. She loved her role as a Dutchmaid Representative, selling clothes for many years. She loved and enjoyed owning NE-RU Arabian farm in Sanbornville and Brookfield, NH. And most recently, as Bookkeeper for Animal Control with the Town of Wakefield.

She later married her longtime friend and companion Henry Mason Blanton, enjoying 24 years of happiness.

With a quick wit and a great sense of humor, she was a joy to be around. She was loved by many and will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her.

She was predeceased by her husband: Neil S. Fogg and son: Steven M. Fogg, a brother: Clinton Eckhart and her husband: Henry Mason Blanton, just 15 days prior to her own passing.

Survived by her 4 children: Gary N. Fogg, Susan E. Ooten, Relf G. Fogg and Kelly F. Carter, 12 grandchildren: Gregory, Geoffrey, Brandon and Christopher, Kea, Kimberly and Keith, Sarah, Amy and Liza, Davlyn and James, several great grandchildren, also nieces, nephews and cousins, a special mention of her dear friend of 53 years: Lana (Plummer) Newman.

As per her request, there will be no calling hours. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date and time to be announced.
