Nettie Porter Crafton Gettings, 90, entered into eternal life at St. Anthony's Hospice Lucy Smith King Care Center at 9:44 p.m. Sunday, August 25, 2013.
She was a member of First Baptist Church. Nettie was born on November 12, 1922, in East St. Louis, Illinois.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Peg Crafton, who died in 1986 and her second husband, Clarence Gettings, who died in 2008.
Survivors include two sons, Mike Crafton and his wife, Ellen, and David Crafton and his wife, Sue Gail, of Henderson; two daughters, Carole Crafton Musgrave and her husband, Ernie, of Liberty, Kentucky, and Peggy Crafton Wood of Henderson; two stepsons, Larry Gettings and his wife, Renee, and Harry Gettings and his wife, Dixie, of Henderson; nine grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; four stepgreat-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; nieces and nephews.
Nettie loved her family and friends, especially her friends at Colonial Assisted Living Center. She will long be remembered for being gentle, kind, and gracious and for being a loving mother, grandmother, aunt, caregiver, and wonderful cook.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Rudy-Rowland Funeral Home. The Reverend Bill Patterson will officiate. Burial will be in Farley Cemetery on Airline Road.
Friends may call from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday and from noon until service time on Wednesday at the funeral home.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to St. Anthony’s Hospice.
Pallbearers will be Mike Crafton, David Crafton, Jeff Crafton, Madison Crafton, Aaron Crafton and Chip Musgrave.
Honorary pallbearers will be Ernie Musgrave, Larry Gettings, Harry Gettings, Bob Crafton, Johnny Crafton, Waverlie Crafton, Steve Porter, Rudy Porter, and Brian Coolbaugh.
