Raymond Howard Fair

U.S. Veteran

Raymond Howard Fair, 95 of Greensboro, NC formerly of Dutch Hill, Parker, Pa., went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday (8/25/2013) after a short illness. Born on November 29, 1917 in Clarion County, Pa., he was the son of the late Frank and Jennie Conner Fair. Ray was a member of the former Dutch Hill Church of God (now the Park Hill Church of God in West Freedom) where he was a member of the Board of Trustees as well as the Sunday School Superintendent for 13 years. Mr. Fair served on the former Perry Twp. School board. He was a proud US Navy WWII veteran who served in combat in the Mediterranean Theater. Ray retired as a mechanic from Quaker State Oil with 30 years of service. As a youth he worked in various underground coal mines. He is survived by his wife Treva L. Peters Garrison Fair. They recently celebrated their 20th wedding anniversary. In addition to his wife he is survived by: 1 Son: James (Janet) Fair of Parker, PA. 1 Daughter: Grace (William) Murray of Parker, PA. 1 Step-Daughter: Susan (Tommy) Gream of Greensboro, NC 2 Step-Sons: Richard A.(Becky) Garrison of Niceville, FL and Lemar (Esther) Bell of Carrollton, GA 1 Grandson Darian (Tawney) Murray of Grove City, PA, 6 Step-grandchildren, 2 great grand children, one step great-grand child, and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by 2 wives. His first wife Leona Bowser Fair, who passed in 1983 and his second wife Edweina Johnson Fair, who passed in 1992. One infant son, seven sisters and six brothers. Friends will be received at the Park Hill Church of God (Lime Plant Rd) Parker, PA, on Thursday the 29th from 2-4 PM & 6-8 PM. Visitation will continue at the church on Friday for an hour (10a-11a) preceding the Funeral which will begin at 11AM. Military Honors and interment will follow at the Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Dutch Hill, near Parker, Pa.
