Forest McKinley Goff, Sr.
Forest McKinley Goff, Sr., 88 of Rowlesburg died Thursday, August 22, 2013 at his home with family by his side.
He was born December 6, 1924, in Etam, a son of the late David Sr. and Goldie Mae Robinson Goff.
He was a loving father, grandfather and served in the US Navy during WW II. He was a general laborer for Local 379 in Morgantown; worked for Alpha Portland Cement plant in Manhiem; the B&O Railroad and General Motors. He was a major sports lover and watched college and professional football and basketball on TV. Forest was an avid reader and history buff and enjoyed watching the history and discovery channels, loved the outdoors and taking care of humming birds. He was a member of the Christ Church United Methodist Church in Rowlesburg.
He is survived by his three sons and spouses, Forest Goff, Jr. and spouse, Cheryl, Larry Goff and spouse, Linda and John Goff and spouse, Brenda, all of Rowlesburg; three daughters and spouses, Patricia Jankowski of Elkhorn, WI, Vivian Myers and spouse Walter of Charleston and Sharon Stemple and spouse, Bradley of Morgantown; four brothers, Milton, John and Charles Goff all of Maryland and William Goff and spouse, Pat of Belington; a sister, Tressa Ellen Hebb of MD; a sister in law, Betty Goff of MD; close friend, James Jankowski of WI, sixteen grandchildren, thirty great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
He was also preceded in death by his loving wife, Vivian Rose Lee Goff; three brothers, Francis, Joseph, and David Goff and a sister, Eugenia May Foster.
Friends may call at Browning Funeral Home, Burke Chapel, 24 Chestnut Street, Rowlesburg on Sunday, August 25 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm where funeral services will be held at 1 pm Monday, August 26, 2013 with Dr. David Spence officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery on Lantz Ridge.
