Staphanna Will, age 92, passed away on Wednesday, August 21, 2013, in her Mellen, Wisconsin, home, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on November 28, 1920, in Mellen, the daughter of Johan and Rosalia (Pelsner) Chuchel. She attended school in Mellen and was a very active member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, in Mellen. She and Andrew M. Will, Jr., were united in marriage, in Mellen, on June 23, 1937. She was a home maker and did the farming together with Andy until his death, on April 8, 1963. She was then employed at the local veneer mills until her retirement in 1984.
Mom’s many hobbies included: gardening, flowers, knitting, crocheting and the art of tatting. Her family has many of her one of a kind handcrafted heirlooms to treasure. She always made sure everyone was taken care of, before herself.
Survivors include: her daughters: Murlene (Carl) Wiener, of Mellen; and Sharron (Arnold) Mackey, of Highbridge, Wisconsin; 16 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren; and 17 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by: her husband, Andrew; her son, Jerome, on December 1, 2012; her parents; her sisters: Philomina Hakala, Anne Halverson, and Marie Oliphant; one great grandchild; and one great-great grandchild.
A visitation, for family and friends, will be held at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, in Mellen, beginning at 10 a.m., Tuesday, August 27, 2013, and continuing until the hour service.
A Mass of Christian Burial, for Staphanna, will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, August 27, 2013, at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, in Mellen. Father Shanthi Reddy Mandapati will be the Celebrant.
Interment, in the Mellen Union Cemetery, Mellen, will take place on a later date.
