James F. Danuser, 55 of Iowa City Iowa died unexpectedly August 17, 2013 at his home in Iowa.
He was born August 22, 1957 in Sycamore. The son of James Danuser and Kathleen (Kirchmann) Geen. Jim was raised in Sycamore but later the family moved to Galena, IL and he graduated with the class of 1975. He joined the Navy after high school and served aboard the Ship USS Haley as an electrician for two years. After this he graduated from the University of Iowa. He currently was the Wide Area Network Supervisor for Region II VA Hospitals.
He loved boating, fishing and smoking cigars on the beach at his Florida home. He also loved going to the movies with his son Uland. Jim will be missed greatly by his family.
Jim is survived by his wife Teresa Kolz-Danuser of Epworth Iowa, a son Uland of Iowa City, Iowa, his father, James Danuser of Stuart, FL.; his mother, Kathleen (Art) Geen of Port Richey, FL; three sisters, Darlene (Robert) Clark of Louisville, Kentucky, Denise Katt of Effingham, IL, Dawn (Jeremy) Geen of Port Richey, Florida, and one brother Mark (Angie) of Effingham, IL, and several nieces and nephews.
His Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, August 24, 2013 at 10:30am at the Church of St. Mary, 244 Waterman, in Sycamore,IL with Father Frank Timar, M.S.C. Burial will be at St. Peter and Paul Cemetery in Virgil, IL.
Visitation will be on Friday from 5:00-8:00pm at the Butala Funeral Home and Crematory in Sycamore, with a wake service being recited at 7:30pm.
