David Kixmiller Russell, 61, of Worcester, died Saturday, August 17, 2013 after a long illness.
He leaves his wife of 17 years, Mary E. Seraichick; three daughters, Jessica J. Russell of Somerville, and twin daughters, Claire K. and Isabel C. Russell of Worcester, and a son, Thaddeus D. Russell in New Jersey. He also leaves his mother, Betty (Kixmiller) Russell in Sleepy Hollow, NY; a sister, Pat Russell of Hancock, NH; two nieces, Robin R. Murphy and Sarah R. Saunders and three grand-nieces. David was predeceased by his father, John St. Clair Russell, Jr., and his brother John St. Clair Russell, III.
He was born in White Plains, New York, graduated from Irvington High School, and then earned his BA and MA in English at University of Wisconsin-Madison. David worked over 30 years as a fruit broker in the produce industry. He enjoyed spending time fishing and boating in the New Hampshire lakes region, was an avid reader and enjoyed crossword puzzles. David was a kind man with a great sense of humor and he will be missed by those who loved and knew him.
David’s family would like to thank the ICU and liver transplant team at UMASS Memorial Healthcare-University Campus for the wonderful and compassionate care they provided.
A Memorial Service to celebrate David’s life will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, August 21 at CALLAHAN & FAY BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 61 Myrtle Street, Worcester. Visiting hours will also be held on Wednesday from 12:30 pm until the time of the service.
