Obituary announcement Dateline: Cascade

Mary Ann Weber, 69, of 800 6th Ave NW, Apt. #25, Cascade, Iowa, died Friday, August 16, 2013 at 4:10 p.m. at Unity Point Health Care Finley Hospital, Dubuque, Iowa.

Friends and relatives of Mary Ann may call from 3 to 8 p.m., Monday, August 19, 2013 at the Reiff Funeral Home in Cascade, Iowa, where a Cascade American Legion Auxiliary Rosary will be held at 4:00 p.m.

Services for Mary Ann will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, August 20, 2013 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Garryowen, Iowa, with Msgr. Richard Funke officiating. Burial will be held in Calvary Cemetery in Cascade, Iowa.

Mary Ann was born September 3, 1943 in Cascade, Iowa, daughter of Merlin J. and Irene M. (Koob) Rogers Sr. She is a graduate of the former St. Martin’s High School in Cascade. On May 2, 1963 she was united in marriage to Eldon Weber at St. Martin’s Catholic church in Cascade, Iowa. She was employed at the Ertl Company, John Rogers Plumbing and at Shady Rest Care Center until her retirement in 2010.

Mary Ann enjoyed going to the Casino with Eldon, attending her grandchildren’s ball games and working on puzzles. She was an avid Cubs and Hawkeye fan. She was a member of St. Matthias Parish in Cascade, and the Cascade American Legion Auxiliary.

She is survived by her husband, Eldon Weber of Cascade, IA; six children, Kevin (Alisha) Weber of Anamosa, IA, Kris (Fred) Fischer, Ken (Melissa) Weber, Kathy (Craig) Gehl, Karen (Tom) Holmes all of Cascade, IA. Kim (Brian) Bradley of Dubuque, IA; 19 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; Six siblings, Merlin (Rosie) Rogers of Monticello, IA, Rick (Linda) Rogers of Dubuque, IA, Susan (Tony) Stille, Lois (Dennis) Merkes and John (Annette) Rogers of Cascade, IA.

She is preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Michael Rogers and a nephew, Jeremy Merkes.
