John

John G. “Jerry” Eder, 77, passed away at his residence on Wednesday, July 31, 2013 in Nineveh. He was born on February 19, 1936 in Elwood, Indiana to John Joseph and Olive Marie (Bomholt) Eder. He married Anne Marie (Courtad) Eder on June 2, 1962. She lovingly survives in Nineveh. Other survivors include their children, Linda Schrimsher of Nineveh; Becky (Jim) Bennett of Martinsville; Michael (Kimberly) Eder of Indianapolis; Gary Eder of Edinburgh and Danny Eder of Edinburgh; one sister, Elaine (James) Babb of Fishers and one brother, Rev. Donald Eder of Logansport. Also surviving are grandchildren, Megan and Wes Schrimsher; Torri, Dacia and Abby Bennett; Logan, Austin and Cole Eder. He was preceded in passing by his parents and infant sister, Rose. Jerry was a graduate of Elwood High School and a 1958 graduate of Purdue University where he received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Pharmacology. He was a veteran serving in the National Guard. He was employed as a Pharmacist until he retired in 2000. Because of his love of muzzleloading, his hobby, he started a business called Flintlocks, Inc. He designed the first true waterproof pan flintlock. He was a longtime member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. He was a life member of the National Muzzle Loading Rifle Association and a life member of the National Rifle Association. He participated in Boy Scouts, achieving the rank of Eagle Scout. He enjoyed shooting, hunting and fishing. Rev. Donald Eder and Rev. John Beitens will conduct a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, August 5, 2013 at 11:30 a.m. at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 114 Lancelot Drive, Franklin, Indiana 46131. Friends may call on Sunday, August 4th from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Flinn and Maguire Funeral Home, 2898 North Morton Street (U.S. 31 North) Franklin, Indiana 46131. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 114 Lancelot Drive, Franklin, Indiana 46131 and/or to the National Muzzle Loading Rifle Association, P.O. Box 67, Friendship, Indiana 47021.
