Thomas E. “Tom” Brown, 64, of Paxton died at 11:45 a.m. Thursday, August 15, 2013, at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.
Visitation will be from 12:30-3:30 p.m. Saturday, August 17, 2013, at Baier Family Funeral Services, 406 E Pells Street, Paxton.
A graveside committal service will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, August 17, at Glen Cemetery, Paxton with Father Jose Kadukunnel officiating.
Tom was born June 25, 1949 in Champaign the son of Oscar and Vera McGreal Brown. He graduated from Paxton High School in 1967. He worked with his father who owned and operated Brown’s Body Shop, Paxton and continued to own and operate the business after his father’s death for a total of 45 years.
Tom grew up in the Catholic faith and served as an Altar Boy at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Paxton. He was a member of the Long Riders Motorcycle Club and past officer. He enjoyed paraplanes and motorcycles.
He is survived by two sons, Shannon (Stephanie) Brown of Rantoul; T. J. Brown of Paxton; two grandchildren, Darby Hauersperger and Ivy Brown; one sister, Marlene Slas of Chicago; a niece and a nephew and his finance, Debbie Rattonetti of Paxton.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorials may be made to an organization of the donor’s choice.
