Ronald Burton Cleveland 69 years of age, of Salmon, Idaho passed away on Friday, July 19, 2013 at the Veterans Hospital in Portland, Oregon. Memorial Graveside services will be held on Monday, September 16, 2013 at the Salmon Cemetery with Pastor Mike Palmer officiating. Inurnment in the Salmon Cemetery. Arrangements by Jones & Casey Funeral Home. Ronald Burton Cleveland was born October 30, 1944 in Piedmont, West Virginia to Olen Cleveland and Dorothy Cleveland Raye. He was in the Army from 1962 until 1965 and spent 2 years in France. In 19968 he met and married his first wife Sarah Lowry, and his son Sean was born in 1970. They divorced in 1972. In 1974, he moved to Reno, Nevada, where he met and married his current wife Diane. In 1975 they moved to south Lake Tahoe, where they resided for seventeen years. He worked for Douglas Company Waste Water Treatment Plant as head mechanic. After his retirement in 1992, they moved to Salmon, Idaho to be close to Diane’s parents, Joe and Jane Schuld. He spent many hours fishing in Tahoe and continued that love here catching Salmon and trout in the rivers and mountains of Idaho. He learned how to make jerky and built his own smoker years ago. He took great pride in his creations and enjoyed sharing them with others. He is survived by wife Diane Cleveland of Salmon, Idaho; son Sean Cleveland of Brooklyn, New York; brothers: Robert (Anna Lee) Cleveland of Westernport, Maryland and Russell (Robin) Raye of Harrington, Delaware; sisters: Sharon Mayles of Westernport Maryland and Olivia Powers of Virginia. He was preceded in death by parents; five brothers: James Cleveland, Boyd Cleveland, Richard Cleveland, Donald Cleveland, Paul Raye and two sisters: Yvette Durham and Barbara Weekly.
