Katie Rose Dublin, 78 of Paxton passed away at 8:23 am. Monday, August 12, 2013, at Heartland Health Care Center, Paxton.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, August 14, 2013, at Baier Family Funeral Services, 406 E Pells Street, Paxton. Graveside services will be held at Polksville Cemetery, Polksville, KY.
Mrs. Dublin was born April 25, 1935 in Salt Lick, Kentucky a daughter of Robert and Ada Alderson Maze. She married Jerry Blackburn and in 1978 married Charles Dublin. He preceded her in death.
She is survived by three sons, John Blackburn of Rantoul, Michael Blackburn of Paxton, Mark (Colleen) Blackburn of Paxton; 12 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; 2 brothers, Howard Maze of Morehead, KY and J. W. (Ruby) Maze of Mt. Pleasant, NC.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Kathy Clark; one sister and one brother.
Mrs. Dublin graduated from Salt Lick, KY high school and from the Louisville, KY Business College. She worked as a secretary. She grew up in Kentucky and lived in Champaign for a number of years before moving to Paxton in 1999.
Katie was a member of the Paxton Women’s Club, the Red Hat Society and a Literary Guild. She enjoyed attending local churches, singing, dancing and playing the piano. She was an avid reader and very proud of her published poetry.
