Edward B. Carbon, age 78, of Ashland, Wisconsin, passed away on Friday, August 9, 2013, at the Essentia Health - Saint Mary’s Medical Center in Duluth, Minnesota.
Ed was born on October 14, 1934, in Highbridge, Wisconsin, the son of Bart and Edith (Kruzan) Carbon. He and Mary A. Franchek were united in marriage, in Moquah, Wisconsin, on August 11, 1956. He was employed, for over 25 years, in the maintenance department of Northland College, in Ashland. Ed was a kind man with a very large heart who would do most anything to help others.
Survivors include: his brothers: Sylvester (Diane) of Kenosha, Wisconsin; Paul (Sharon), of Highbridge; and Roger (Terry) of Gurney, Wisconsin; sisters: Florence Motel, of Ashland; Rose Marie Zwetow, of Ashland; Mary Haderly, of Mellen, Wisconsin; Nancy Kusel, of Duluth; Donna (Ferdinand) Grage, of Hurley, Wisconsin; Bernice Mattson, of Aurora, Minnesota; and Doris (Glenn) Larson, of Highbridge; his brother-in-law, Sylvester Franchek, of Moquah; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by: his wife, Mary, on July 20, 2010; his parents; and one brother, Floyd.
A private graveside committal service and burial for Ed will take place, in the Saint Agnes Cemetery, Ashland, at 11 a.m., Friday, August 16, 2013. Father Paul Paré, O.F.M., will officiate.
Memorials may be made to Our Lady of the Lake Catholic School in Ashland.
