James E. Campbell, Sr. (AKA JC) was born August 26, 1949. He was the 7th child born to George and Myrtle Campbell, Sr. He graduated from Phillis Wheatley High School in 1969. In 2009 he accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior. He then became a member of the Huntleigh Park Baptist Church, where he was a member until the Lord called him home.
James was a hard dedicated worker throughout his life. He gave 17 years of service to Turbine Support before they relocated and then went on to give 18 years of service to H.E.B. Warehouse before retiring in 2011. JC enjoyed watching the Cowboys, Spurs and playing Dominoes with his family and friends.
James departed this life and went “Home” to be with his Heavenly Father on Sunday, August 4, 2013. He was preceded in death by his parents; George and Myrtle Campbell, Sr., four brothers; Charles Campbell, Leroy Campbell, Jimmy Campbell and George Campbell, Jr.
James leaves to cherish his memories, his aunt; Eve Mae Jackson, son; James E. Campbell, Jr. (Tonya Rome), son; Brian Lango (Yanina Lango), daughter; Carla Dibrell, son; Antwone Campbell, Sr. (Penny Campbell), son; Kevin Dibrell, daughter; Tameka Dibrell, daughter; LaShayla Dibrell and stepson; Charles Moore, Jr. all of San Antonio, Texas. Five brothers; Ellis Campbell (Alrita Campbell) of Temple, Texas, William Campbell, Carl Campbell of Houston, Texas, Kenneth Campbell (Keisha Campbell) of Seguin, Texas, Errol Ray Campbell (Caroline Campbell), six sisters; Geraldine Richardson (Floyd Richardson), Doris Campbell, Ida Smith (Allen Smith, Sr.), Shirley Campbell, Delores Campbell, Armenda Campbell, 23 grandchildren, 3 great-grand children and a host of relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 15, 2013 from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. from Lewis Funeral Home, 811 South W.W. White Road. Funeral service is scheduled for Friday, August 16, 2013 beginning at 11:00 A.M. from Greater Love Missionary Baptist Church, Reverend L.J. Gillespie, Pastor. Reverend Johnnie Guyton, Pastor of Huntleigh Park Baptist Church to officiate. Interment will follow in Meadowlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
