Clara C. Albers

Clara C. Albers, nee Kalkhoff, 87 of St. Libory, IL born June 12, 1926 in St. Libory, IL, died Sunday, August 11, 2013 at her residence, surrounded by her family.

Mrs. Albers was a homemaker; a lifelong member of St. Liborius Catholic Church, St. Libory; and St. Liborius C.C.W. She loved gardening, sewing, quilting, bingo and most of all staying involved with her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, August and Cecelia, nee Wesselmann, Kalkhoff, and four sisters, Loretta Kalkhoff in infancy, Genevieve Chott, Cecile Terveer and Pauline Dressler.

Surviving is her husband of 67 years, Victor B. Albers whom she married in St. Libory, IL on Feb. 27, 1946; her children, Rose Marie Grewe of St. Libory, IL, Karen (Ken) Tyler of Mascoutah, IL, Joanne (Myron) Hoerchler of Mascoutah, IL, David (Carol) Albers of Freeburg, IL, Victoria (John) Ellerbusch of Okawville, IL, Michael (Brenda) Albers of St. Libory, IL, Roger (Marisa) Albers of Belleville, IL, Daryl (Theresa) Albers of Parsons, KS and Robert (Mariann) Albers of Connersville, IN; 21 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; a brother-in-law, Irvin Terveer of St. Libory, IL; a sister-in-law, Ann Heitland of Belleville, IL; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Memorials may be made to St. Liborius Cemetery Fund or Masses or Hospice of Southern Illinois, Inc., 305 South Illinois, Belleville, IL 62220.

Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 8 PM Friday, Aug. 16, 2013 and from 8:30 to 9:45 AM Saturday Aug. 17 at the St. Liborius Catholic Church in St. Libory, IL. A recitation of the rosary will be held at 4 PM Friday and led by Deacon Andrew Lintker.

Funeral: A funeral Mass will be held 10 AM Saturday, Aug. 17, 2013 at St. Liborius Catholic Church in St. Libory with Rev. Paul Nwanegbo officiating as celebrant and Rev. Dennis Voss as homilist. Burial will follow in St. Liborius Catholic Cemetery, St. Libory, IL.
