RoseAnn “Cookie” Peak, 68, of Hazleton, passed away at home on Thursday surrounded by her family. Born in Hazleton she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Rose (Vito) Castrine. Cookie worked as a nurses aide, was active in the community and enjoyed helping others. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, cooking and baking. Cookie was a member of the Most Precious Blood Church.
Preceding her in death in addition to her parents was her brother Carmen.
Surviving are her husband Martin Peak, Sr. children; Madonna Scatton and husband Dr. Frank Scatton, Mountaintop, Martin Peak, Jr. and wife Sonie, York, PA, Colleen Farole and husband Dominic, Hummelstown, PA and Shawn Peak and wife Corinne, Bristow, VA. Her sisters; Marie Schagen and Louise Ann Castrine and her brother Pat Castrine all of Hazleton, 16 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.
The funeral will be held on Monday at 10:30am from the Fierro Funeral Home, 26 W. Second St., Hazleton, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11am in the Most Precious Blood Church. Interment will follow in the Calvary Cemetery, Drums. Friends may call on Sunday afternoon from 2-5pm at the funeral home.
