Jennifer Ann Buckles

The funeral service for Jennifer Ann Emick Buckles, age 45, will be at 1:00 PM Saturday, August 10, 2013, at Anderson-Burris Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Susan Southall officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation with family will be Friday 4:00 to 8:00 PM at Anderson-Burris Funeral Home.

Jennifer was born March 25, 1968, and was called to Heaven in the early morning hours of August 4, 2013, after a courageous battle with metastasized breast cancer.

Jennifer grew up in Enid, attending Glenwood Elementary, Waller Junior High, and graduated from Enid High School in 1986. She attended Arizona State University, where she obtained her B.S. in Criminal Justice in 1990, and then obtained her Master of Sport Science from the United States Sport Academy in 1993.

She married a fellow beloved Enid native, Robert “Bobby” Buckles on February 25, 1995. Making their home in the Dallas area, the union of Jennifer and Bob produced three sensational sons. Jennifer most recently worked as the Wellness Program Manager for Mary Kay, Inc. in Dallas. She was an active community service member, serving on several local boards and foundations, and school PTA’s, in addition to conducting fitness classes on the side. Her vibrant glowing smile could always be seen courtside or on the sidelines of her boys numerous sports games.

Jennifer is survived by her loving husband Bob; sons Cooper (15), Logan (11), Garrett (8); mother Roberta Seem and husband Herb of Edmond; father John “Ed” Emick of Enid; sister Lori Emick Jordan of Vinita; mother-in-law Barbara Buckles Lohse and husband Gerald of Enid; father-in-law Dwight Buckles of Enid; sister-in-law Beverly Buckles Thoes and husband Dewey of Dallas; nephews Keifer Hamlin and Hunter Jordan; nieces Carley Jordan, and Erin and Emily Thoes.

She is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Rev. RHG and Elois Albright and paternal grandparents, Richard “Guy” and Betty Emick.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Purple Passion, Hope and Love (a facebook donation page) or to Susan B. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
