Charles Wayne Barrineau age 68, died August 5, 2013 at his residence in Lockhart. He was born June 2, 1945 to William Drew Barrineau and Merle Gomillion Barrineau. Wayne worked in the textile industries in Florala for many years as an inspector. He was dedicated to his community serving on the Florala rescue squad and Florala police department. Wayne enjoyed sports and especially coaching the Paxton Women League softball team. He was an avid fisherman and spent many hours in the lakes and ponds in our area. Wayne also loved the activities and fellowship at the Florala Senior Citizen Center. His greatest love however, was the love he had for his family. He cherished the times he had with his children and most especially his grandchildren. He relished being "Pa". Wayne was preceded in death by parents, William Drew Barrineau and Selma Wise; mother, Merle Gomillion Barrineau Wise.
He was survived by daughter, Buffi Barrineau Bailey and husband Dr William Bailey, son, Andrew Barrineau both of Pensacola, FL. Wayne is also survived by two grandchildren, Tinley and Griffith Bailey who he loved with his whole heart. Sister, Claudette Stewart and husband Lynn of DeFuniak Springs, FL and the mother of his two children Cindy Barrineau of Lockhart.
Services for Charles Wayne Barrineau will be 6PM Friday August 9, 2013 from Evans Funeral Home with James Davis officiating. Visitation will be 1 hour before services. Flowers will be accepted or memorials in Wayne's name to The Florala Senior Citizen Center 1338 Fourth Street Florala, AL 36442.
