Hilda F.

Of Revere, she passed away peacefully at Epoch Nursing Care in Melrose surrounded by her loving family on Saturday evening August 3rd.  She was 91 years of age.  Born and raised in Dorchester, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Hilda (Webb) Jacobsen.  She grew up in St. Margaret’s Parish in Dorchester and attended schools in that Boston neighborhood.  She married William H. O’Donnell in 1948 and together they settled in Revere to raise a family of two daughters and three sons.  A resident of Revere for 65 years she was a devoted wife, mother and adoring grandmother.  She was a longtime parishioner of the Immaculate Conception parish in Revere and a past member of the Immaculata Guild at that church.  “Snookie” also worked outside of the home for a short time at Dennison Stationary Supply in Boston’s Downtown Crossing.  “Snookie” and her husband Bill were lifetime proprietors of the Avon Café in Chelsea; she assisted her husband as a bookkeeper, office manager and helping along with the many day to day duties around the café.  She was preceded in death by her beloved husband in 2007.  Throughout her life she remained a caring and loving matriarch to her much beloved family.

Funeral will begin from the Frank A. Welsh & Sons Funeral Home 718 Broadway CHELSEA on Thursday, August 8th at 9:30 A.M. Followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Beach St. REVERE at 10:30 A.M. Services will conclude with Interment at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett. Relatives and friends are most kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held at the Welsh Funeral Home on Wednesday from 4 - 8 P.M.. Funeral Home fully handicap accessible, ample parking opposite Funeral Home.

She was the
beloved wife of the late William H. O’Donnell, Sr. Devoted mother of Dorothy Morgan and her husband Michael of Saugus, James O’Donnell of Jackson NH and Revere, William H. O’Donnell Jr., and his wife Tricia of Peabody, Joseph F. O’Donnell and his wife Kellye of Newburyport and Mary Welch and her husband George of Saugus. Dear sister of Margaret Reardon of Falmouth and the late Anna Doherty. Cherished grandmother of Michael R. Morgan, Jr., Michael A. Morgan, Whitney and Keri Morgan, Joey O’Donnell Jr., Brittany, Michael and Brooke O’Donnell, Trevor MacKinney, George III and Meghan Welch.  She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews.
