U.S. Veteran

Jesse Becerra, Jr., 77, of Rock Springs, Wyoming passed away on Wednesday, July 31, 2013 at his home.

Mr. Becerra was born in Milan, Michigan on October 17, 1935, the son of the late Jesse and Hilda Guilfoyle Becerra

He attended school in Milan, Michigan.

Mr. Becerra married Colleen Elizabeth Mitchell on August 26, 1961 and she preceded him in death on August 12, 1997.

He served in the United States Army for twenty-three years and was discharged April 30, 1974.

Mr. Becerra was a member of the Disabled American Veterans and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

His interests included leather tooling, fishing and spending time with family and friends.

Survivors include his longtime companion Hattie Callahan of Rock Springs, Wyoming; one son Edward Anthony Becerra of Haxtun, Colorado; three step-sons John Edward Callahan and wife Wendy of Coppers Cove, Texas, Davie Callahan and wife Dana of Rock Springs, Wyoming and Joshua Callahan and wife Kate of Gillette, Wyoming; two daughters Tina Marie Becerra-Hinsley and husband Steve of Amana, Iowa and Dannielle Becerra and fiancee’ Chet Vaughn of LaPorte City, Iowa; two brothers Edward Becerra and wife Sue of Elgin, Oklahoma and David Becerra of Ponce DeLeon; four sisters Judy Gable and husband Robert of Ypsilanti, Michigan, Ginny Hunter and husband Levi of Grand Prairie, Texas, Mary Becerra Colvin of Clayton, Oklahoma and Betty McGown of Winsborough, Texas; seven grandchildren Esther Hinsley, Margaret Hinsley, Cecilia Hinsley, Abigail Hinsley, Madeliane Hinsley, Cierra Murphy and Dakota Murphy; six step-grandchildren, Davie Callahan, Jr., Devon Callahan, Daniel Callahan, Dyllan Callahan, Danielle Callahan and Maddy Warner.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Colleen Elizabeth Becerra; one daughter Cecilia Becerra and one brother Joseph Becerra.

Memorial Services will be conducted at 12:00 P.M.,Saturday, August 3, , 2013 at the Victory Christian Fellowship, 591 Broadway, Rock Springs, Wyoming. Pastor Brian Poad will officiate. Friends may call one hour prior to services.
