Paul S. Schou ,82, of Dwight passed away July 29, 2013 at 4:35 PM, at the Meadows Mennonite Retirement Community, Chenoa, IL.

Visitation will be Thursday, August 1 from 4-7 PM at Hager Memorial Home, Dwight. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM Friday, August 2 at the memorial home with Rev. Connie Williams-Moodie officiating, followed by burial at McDowell Cemetery, Dwight. Military honors will be conducted by the VFW Post #2608 and the American Legion Post #486. The family suggests memorial to the Donors Choice.

Paul was born Nov. 6, 1930 in Dwight to Niels & Hilda Davidsen Schou . He married Jean Ann McConnell, Dec. 6, 1964 at the Dwight First Congregational Church. He honorably served his country in the United States Airforce during the time of the Korean conflict.

He is survived his wife of 49 years, Jean Ann, a daughter, Sandra (Paula Korntved) Schou, St. Paul, MN., 2 sons, Gregory (Julie) Schou, Leener, Az. and Douglas (Jennifer Corrigan) Schou, Dwight., 2 brothers Robert (Audrey) Schou, Streator, IL. John (Shirley) Schou, Rockford, IL., a sister in law, Meletta Schou, Dwight and 4 grandchildren, Sidney, Keegan, Kai, & Braelyn Schou.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Marie McNamara and brothers, Niels & Richard Schou.

Paul retired from Caterpillar in Joliet after working for 39 years. He was a member of the VFW Post # 2608, American Legion Post # 486, the Danish Brotherhood, and the Dwight Country Club.

Paul was an avid White Sox fan. He enjoyed playing golf and bowling. He loved and enjoyed his grandchildren.
