Emanuel Morris Gandy, Jr.

U.S. Veteran

Emanuel Morris Gandy, Jr. entered into this life on June 21, 1937 to the union of the late Emanuel Gandy, Sr. and Elizabeth L. Gandy. He was reared and educated in San Antonio, Texas.

Emanuel, affectionately known as "Buddy", began his military career at Lackland Air Force Base. During his term of enlistment he was stationed stateside as well as abroad. He served his country proudly for 22 years in the Medical Field as a Medical Assistant. He also served as a Supervisor while in the U.S. Air Force. In 1975, he was discharged from the U.S. Air Force with many awards and medals in recognition of his honorable service to our country.

After his military career, he returned home and enrolled into Southwest Texas State University where he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Health Professions and Health Care Management. He then went on to further his education by enrolling into the University of San Antonio where, in 1988, he earned a Master of Arts Degree in Health Administration. Emanuel was also employed as a College Instructor, Substitute Teacher (Elementary General Education) and coordinated administrative programs.

Following the dissolution of two previous marriages which produced two offsprings, Dena C. Gandy. Nicole E. Miller and Brenton E. Gandy.

Emanuel was preceded in death by his parents.

Emanuel leaves memories to be cherished by his children, sister; Shirley Marlene Thorpe, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, July 30, 2013 beginning at 2:00 P.M. in Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery with full military honors.
