Leroy Sanders, Sr.

Funeral Services for Leroy Sanders, Sr., age 81, of Buckner, AR who died Tuesday July 23, 2013 in Wadley Regional Medical Center will be held Saturday, July 27, 2013 at 2:00 PM at New Hope Baptist Church Buckner, AR with Pastor Edward Seals Officiating and Rev. Charles Thomas Eulogist. Burial will be in New Hope Cemetery with services provided by Brandon’s Mortuary, Inc. of Hope.

Leroy Sanders, Sr. was born April 24, 1932 in Falcon, Arkansas he was the son of the late Lillie Gulley Sanders. Leroy lived in Harvey, Illinois before moving back to Buckner.

Leroy worked as a construction worker for the Arkansas Highway Transportation Department before retiring. He was an active member of New Hope Baptist Church until his health prevented him from attending.

Leroy was a caring family man always putting family first in all matters before himself. He departed this life on Tuesday, July 23, 2013 in Wadley Regional Medical Center Texarkana, Texas with family at his bedside. He was predeceased by his mother Lillie Sanders one son Leroy sanders, Jr. and daughter Georgia James. Also his siblings Verna Morrow, Vena Madison and Clara Halley.

Left to keep his memories alive are his wife, Mae Bell Smith Sanders of Buckner, Arkansas; one son Charles Sanders of Buckner, Arkansas; four daughters: Mollie Cooper (special friend Robert Henderson) of Bussey, Arkansas; Tracy Sanders of Hope, Arkansas; Diane Ingram (Freddie) of Buckner, Arkansas and LaKeisha Brown of Magnolia, Arkansas; one sister Ethelene Nesby (John) of Denton, Texas; eighteen grandchildren thirty-six great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren, also a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends

Visitation will be Friday, July 26, 2013 from 5 until 7 pm at the funeral home
