Loving Husband, Father, Grandfather and Great Grandfather

Mr. Antonio Addona, 95, of 402 Todd Road, passed away Tuesday July 23, 2013 at Waterbury Hospital surrounded by his loving family.

He was the husband of Filomena (Focareta) Addona.Antonio was born in Pontelandolfo, Benevento, Italy on January 1, 1918, son of the late Francesco and Angela (Focareta) Addona. He served in the Italian Army in World War II after which he immigrated to Montreal where he lived until 1972 when he moved to Waterbury. Antonio worked as a cabinet maker for Lewis Lescare Kitchens and Valentino Cabinets until his retirement in 1982. He enjoyed woodworking, basket making and gardening.

Besides his wife Filomena of 66 years, he leaves two daughters, Carmela Addona Guerrera and husband Salvatore Guerrera of Montreal, Canada, and Angela Addona Santopietro and husband Nick D. Santopietro of Wolcott, one sister Concetta Addona Ullo of Pontelandolfo, Italy, five grandchildren, Sergio Guerrera, Sonia Guerrera and her husband Joseph Hernando, and Luisa Guerrera all of Montreal, Lee Anthony Santopietro and Marisa Angelica Santopietro both of Wolcott, two great grandchildren, Juliano and Dario Hernando of Montreal and several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by two sisters, Anna Addona Rubbo and Angela Addona Rubbo.

Arrangements: A funeral service will be held on Friday July 26, 2013 at 9:00 am at Chase Parkway Memorial/The Albini Family Funeral Home, 430 Chase Parkway, Waterbury to St. Lucy’s Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am. Entombment will take place on Saturday in Laval Cemetery Mausoleum in Montreal, Canada. Calling hours will be held Thursday July 25, 2013, from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at the funeral home.

The family would like extend sincere gratitude to the Telemetry Department at Waterbury Hospital for their dedication, comfort, compassion and professional care given to Antonio during his stay.
