U.S. Veteran

Teddy F. Williams, II, 79 formerly of Sycamore died Friday, July 12, 2013 at the James H. Quillen, VA Medical Center in Mountain Home, TN.

He was born July 13, 1933 in Limestone, TN. The son of Teddy F. and Virginia Pearl (Gray) Williams I.

He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict, serving in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Sycamore VFW and the New Beginnings Church, where he was saved at in Limestone. He retired from Ideal Industries. He then picked his favorite hobby, the love of growing flowers and vegetables. He also enjoyed fishing, camping and visiting with his many friends.

Survivors include his children, Vicky (Carl) Stearns of Rockford, Tim Williams of CA and Cindy (Mike) Koski of MN; 13 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; his brother, Thomas "Bat eye" Scott (Diane) WIlliams-Callahan of FL; his nieces and nephews, Norman "June bug" (Sharon) Light of TN, Randall Williams of FL, Carolyn Light of TN, Tammy (Williams) Salmon of FL and Kimberly (Williams) Petty of FL and many more dear family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Shirley (Kempton) Williams; one son, Teddy F. Williams, III; one sister, Wanda Louise Light; his brothers, James Horace (Whitey) Erwin and Berthal Eugene (Ham) Hamblin; and nephew, Jerry Light.

A memorial visitation will be on Tuesday, July 23 from 9:30-11:00 AM at the Butala Funeral Home and Crematory, 1405 DeKalb Ave. in Sycamore. A Celebration of Life Service will begin at 11:00 AM with Rev. Steve Persson officiating. Burial with full military rites will be at the Elmwood Cemetery.

He started his life in Limestone and ended in Limestone. He did it his way!
