GANSEVOORT--- William J. Flynn, 70, of Baker Drive, Gansevoort, passed away peacefully, Monday, July 15, 2013 at Saratoga Hospital, after a brief illness. Born Oct. 1, 1942, in Ticonderoga, N.Y., he was the son of William J. and Viola T. (LaPrairie) Flynn. William married Barbara Andrews and they attended catholic churches in the area together. For 37 years, William worked for N.Y.S. Audit and Control. Following his retirement, he worked as a security guard at Times Union Center until the time of his of his death. He also enjoyed working summers at Saratoga Race Track. Wililam was a member of Mechanicville B.P.O.E. Lodge No. 1403 where he served as Exalted Ruler in 1982. In addition to his father, William Flynn, William was predeceased by his wife, Barbara Flynn, and stepfather, Franklin Fish. Survivors include his mother, Viola T. Fish; three brothers, James H. Flynn and his companion, Brenda L. Hayes, Robert (Brenda) C. Flynn, and Vern F. Fish; one very special aunt, Caroline Bennett of Ticonderoga; one uncle, William LaPrairie of Thurman; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Friends may call upon the family Friday, July 19, 2013 from 10 to 11 a.m. at Maynard D. Baker Funeral Home, 11 Lafayette St., Queensbury. A funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home, with Deacon Bill Bazinet officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Main St., South Glens Falls.
