U.S. Veteran

MR. RICHARD JOSEPH BRESSETTE, 87 of 37 Chesbro Ave. North Adams, MA died Friday July 12, 2013 at his home. He was born in North Adams, MA on June 2, 1926, son of William and Flora (Morris) Bressette. He attended the Holy Family School. He was a veteran of the Korean War and served with the US Army. Richard worked for Morin Roofing and Green Mountain Race Track. He then worked as a truck driver for Arbor Acres and was last employed at the Eagles in North Adams. He was a communicant of the former Notre Dame Church. Richard was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie #310 and the Williamstown American Legion. He was an avid fan of the New York Yankees baseball team. Survivors include his wife, the former Cecilia Baker, whom he married on June 30, 1948. One daughter- Brenda Noyes of Chatham, MA Two sons- Kevin Bressette of Pownal, VT and Steven Bressette of Brewster, MA. Ten grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren He also leaves nieces and nephews. His son, Dale A. Bressette died April 19, 1957 and his granddaughter, Alicia Bressette died April 19, 1978. Two sisters and one brother are deceased including Marjorie Boucher Wheeler, Esther Bemis, and Albert Bressette.

FUNERAL NOTICE: A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Richard Bressette will be celebrated Thursday July 18, 2013 at 11:00 AM at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church. Burial will follow in Southview cemetery. Calling hours at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS CENTRAL CHAPEL, 74 Marshall St. North Adams, MA are Wednesday from 4-7 PM.
