Ludowici - Robert L. Parker, 84 of Ludowici passed away Sunday, July 14, 2013 at the Candler Hospital in Savannah. He was born in Paynesville, WV and had lived in Long County 54 years. He retired as a Job Superintendent in the construction field, was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict, where he was a tank demonstrator. He was passionate about his coon hunting and enjoyed many years as a member of the Piney Woods Coon Hunters. He was also a member of the English Breeders and Fanciers Association. He was a member of Compass Worship Center in Ludowici. His daughter, Pat Zoucks, his parents, 3 brothers and 4 sisters preceded him in death. Survivors are his wife of 62 years, Hazel Morgan Parker; daughter and son-in-law, Debbie & Randy Wilson; sons and daughter-in-law, Bobby Parker, Dale and Wanda Parker, and Donald "Gobbler" Parker all of Ludowici; son-in-law, Johnny Zoucks of Shellman Bluff; a sister, Rachel Charles of Lincolnton, NC; 12 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Tuesday, July 16 from 6-8 P.M. at Compass Worship Center in Ludowici. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 17 at 11:00 A.M. at Compass Worship Center with Rev. David Holton and Rev. Gene Parker officiating. Burial will follow in the Baggs Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Patrick Zoucks, Gary DeLoach, Bubba Parker, Will Parker, Robert Parker, and Mike Fuller.
