Mr. George Battle, Jr., age 71, was lovingly known by his family and friends as “Jack” of 696 Shephard Lane, Mount Olive, North Carolina departed his earthly life on Sunday, July 7, 2013, at Wayne Memorial Hospital, Goldsboro, NC.
“Jack” was born in Wayne County, NC on March 29, 1942, to the late Mr. James Persall and Mrs. Rosa Battle Martin.
He received his education in the public schools of Wayne County.
“Jack” was employed with and retired from the Mount Olive Pickle Company in Mount Olive, North Carolina.
George was preceded in death by his parents, his grandparents, Mr. Harry Battle and Mrs. Nannie Battle, a brother, Mr. Leroy Battle.
Funeral Service will be conducted on Friday, July 12, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. at McIntyre Funeral Home and Chapel, 900 South George Street, Goldsboro, NC. Bishop Thurman McCullen will officiate.
Also, a public viewing will be held on Thursday, July 11, 2013, at McIntyre Funeral Home and Chapel, 900 South George Street, Goldsboro, NC from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. with the family present from 5:00 p.m. 6:00 p.m. to receive other family members and friends.
Mr. Battle leaves to cherish his loving and precious memories: a daughter, Janis Faison of Mount Olive, NC; a grandson, Kendrick Faison; three great grandchildren, MaLykai Raynor, Octlvaus Faison and Kayle Faison; a special niece, Brenda Martin Reid; two sisters, Rose Martin and Chris Leonard and husband, James; five brothers, Percy Battle of Mount Olive, NC, Benjamin Martin of South Carolina, Robert E. Martin of Indianan, David Martin and wife, Olivia of Dudley, NC and Elder Ricky Martin and wife, Pastor Evora of Dudley, NC; an uncle, Joseph Battle of Dunn, NC; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends.
At other times, the family will receive friends and other family members at Pastor Ricky and Sister Evora Martin’s residence, 370 Hopesway Drive, Dudley, North Carolina.
The family will assemble on Friday, July 12, 2013, at Pastor Ricky and Sister Evora Martin’s residence, 370 Hopesway Drive, Dudley, North Carolina. one-hours prior to the Funeral at 9:55 a.m. in preparation for the funeral procession.
