Samuel Charles Bange began his life in Columbus, Ohio on December 15, 1929 the first born son of Katherine Louise Ross and Oliver george Bange. Sam was educated in the Columbus Public Schools. In 1946 at age 17, Sam joined the united States Coast Guard and successfully completed his entire tour of duty being honorably discharged in June of 1950. Sam remained in the Detroit/Warren, Michigan having served with the USCG Great Lakes region. When sam was 21 years old, he met and married Euna H. Moon. From that union one son, Samuel Stephen Bange, was born. Upon a divorce from his son's mother. Sam returned to Columbus, Ohio and began his career working for the Federal Government where he met and married Ethel Marie Redd who also worked for the Federal Government. Sam was a very hard worker finally settling in Michigan. His lond career, however carried him to several places to include Columbus, Ohio; St Louis, Missouri; Viet Nam (working in the water pruification systems area); St Louis, Missouri again and finally back to the Detroit/Warren area.

Sam achieved the high position of GS-14 during his long career.

In 1969, while in Columbus, Sam and Marie adopted his younger brother's oldest daughter, Alycia Kay Bange, at age 5, as their daughter before returning to St. louis. Sam was also a member of the masons for some period of time.

Samuel Charles Bange passed peacefully, at the age of 83, at St. John's Oakland Hospital in the city of Warren, Michigan on the afternoon of Tuesday, July 2, 2013 with his sister, Sandra; his daughter, Alycia and his grandson Daylon at his side.

Sam was preceded in death by his parents, younger brother, Ross nephew, Ross Anthony; cousin Charles Aurelious Ross. Sam is survived by his only son, Samuel Stephen Bange (Stephen's mother Euna H. Spencer); his only sister, Sandra May; daughter, Alycia Kay; niece, Cristal Ivy (Cristal and Alycia's mother, Matgo Bange); grandsons; Daylon Marquice and Seth Anthony; cousins; James A. Ross, Sr; Judith Dichinson Young and Jesse Geeder Dickinson, Jr. both of Plain City, Ohio; and many other grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, cousin, nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
