Canaan, NH – Frederick T. Majewski, 79, after a prolonged battle with prostate cancer, died at his son’s home in Canaan on Wednesday, July 03, 2013.

He was born October 13, 1933 in Bristol, CT a son of John and Bessie (Rustic) Majewski and grew up there, graduating from Bristol High School in 1951 and then attending Hillyer College, now the University of Hartford, before enlisting in the Army in 1954 and serving his tour of duty in Berlin. After Fred’s discharge in 1956 he returned to Bristol and went to work for New Departure for several years before starting a long career as an MIS manager with the Barnes Group, retiring in 1988. He was married to Elaine Salisbury, from Middlebury, CT on September 20, 1958. In 1998, Elaine and Fred established their home in Canaan, NH. Upon moving to New Hampshire, he began working with his son Jeff in restoring old homes in the area.

Fred was a member of the Jacklin Rod & Gun Club in Bristol, a member of the American Legion in both Bristol and Canaan and a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Canaan, NH.

He is survived by his wife Elaine of Canaan; two sons Frederick Majewski, Jr. of Bethlehem, PA and Jeff Majewski and his wife Carol of Canaan and a daughter Sue-Ellen Repeta and her husband Stephen of Bristol, CT; three grandchildren Fallon, Hayden and Aengus Repeta; a brother John Majewski, Jr. of Chester, CT and a sister Elizabeth Ann LaBombard of Terryville, CT.

At his request there will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11am, Wednesday, July 10, 2013 at Sacred Heart Church in Lebanon. Burial will be at the convenience the family.
