Dana Andrew Humphrey, Sr., age 49, was born in Wayne County June 6, 1964 to Clifton Earl Humphrey (Angeline) and Mary Kornegay Humphrey. He died Sunday, June 30, 2013, at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
Dana was educated in the Goldsboro City School system and graduated from Goldsboro High School in 1982.
He worked many years at Coca Cola Bottling Company and was later employed by Wayne Opportunities until the time of his death.
Funeral Service will be conducted on Friday, July 5, 2013, at 1:00 p.m. at McIntyre Funeral Home and Chapel, 900 South George Street, Goldsboro, NC.
Interment will follow in the Rest Haven Cemetery, 2909 Cox Mill Road, Dudley, NC.
Also, a public viewing will be held on Friday, July 5, 2013, at McIntyre Funeral Home and Chapel, 900 South George Street, Goldsboro, NC from 11:00 a.m. to 12:50 p.m. with the family present to receive other family members and friends.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by two sons, Danrequious Bryant, Sr. and Dana Jr., both of Goldsboro; two sisters, Anita Daniels of Durham, NC, and Tarja Humphrey Thigpen (Chris) of Goldsboro; one brother, Tony Eric Humphrey (Pat) of Centreville, VA; eight aunts, Gayle Kornegay Lee of Dudley, NC; Debra McLean (Danny), Doris Y. King (Johnnie), Carolyn Posey (Ray), Geraldine Edgerton (Ricky), and Bertie Howard, all of Goldsboro; Edna Bryant and Flora Starks, both of Buffalo, NY; two uncles, Alonzo Kornegay (Terrie) of Goldsboro, and Eugene Humphrey (Edna) of Charlotte, NC; one grandson, Danrequious Bryant Jr., of Goldsboro, NC; four nieces, Jamisha Humprhey and Nadia Jones, of Goldsboro; Tamesha Humprhey of Fayetteville, NC, and Callie Humphrey of Centreville, VA; two nephews, Tony Humphrey, Jr., and Foster Humphrey, both of Centreville, VA, and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Derrick Earl Humphrey, his paternal grandparents, Dan and Leora Humphrey, his maternal grandparents, Andrew and Evangeline Kornegay, two uncles, Andrew Kornegay and Jerome Kornegay, and two aunts, Sarah Hamilton, and Gloria ‘Skeeter’ Cherry.
