Robert Lee Brincefield

U.S. Veteran

ARCHDALE, N.C. - Lt. Col. Robert (Bobby) Lee Brincefield (Ret), 81, died June 22, 2013 at his residence with family by his side. Mr. Brincefield was born in Alamance County, N.C. to James and Myrtle Brincefield. He graduated from Burlington High School, where he was active in football, and continued on to receive a degree in Education from Wake Forest University. Mr. Brincefield was married to Doris Miller Brincefield for 56 wonderful years. Mr. Brincefield served in the U.S. Army, where he retired, and went on to work for U.S. Postal Service. He enjoyed coaching football when he was younger, gardening, fishing, traveling and spending time with his family Mr. Brincefield is survived by his wife, Doris Miller Brincefield, of the home; daughter, Barbara Brincefield Sutton (Wilson); sons, William Lee Brincefield of the home and John Robert and Debbie Brincefield of Charlotte; grandchildren, Taylor Scott Sutton, Allison and Kevin Herring, Ashley Nicole Brincefield, Stephen Lee Brincefield and Robert Cameron Brincefield; great-grandson, Hayden Emery Herring; sisters, Charles and Frances Roberts, Mae Shepherd; brothers, Frank and Vickie Brincefield, Ken and Enan Brincefield and John Brincefield. The family will receive friends at the McClure Funeral Home, 1030 South Main Street, Graham, N.C., Friday, June 28, 2013 from 2 until 4 p.m. A funeral service will be held at 4 p.m., following the visitation, in the McClure Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Olin Tatum officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to Hospice of Randolph County, P.O. Box 9, Asheboro, NC 27203. The family of Robert Brincefield would like to thank Glenda and Debbie Edwards for all their support and care during this difficult time.
