Loving, caring and devoted husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend to many.
Born in Sacramento, he learned to hunt early with his father and uncle. In his youth he enjoyed racing motorcycles on dirt tracks throughout the state. As a young man his racing career was halted when he became ill. He spent that time training his brother in the skill of racing and moved to Redding to be closer to family, where he survived his first battle with cancer.
He worked as a salesman where he met his future wife. He soon settled down and started a family. His love of the medical field encouraged him to get his EMT certification. Following in his father's footsteps, and using the skills he learned as a young man, he became a licensed contractor and started his own tile and granite business.
In his spare time he loved to ski and snowboard at Mt. Shasta and Mt. Bachelor. His love of the snow lead to teaching snowboarding and driving a snow cat on Mt. Shasta. In the summertime he enjoyed boating at Shasta Lake where he spent many hours skiing, wakeboarding and hanging out with family and friends. He later moved on to riding his motorcycle and taking trips to the coast and bike runs with his wife and friends.
He is survived by wife, Kathy; daughters, Alicia and Danielle; mother, Juanita; brother, Mike (Cheryl); nephews, Brett and Shawn; niece, Michelle. He was preceded in death by his father, Darrell F. Sage.
