Apostle Donnie LaGrang McIntyre, 59, of 609 Gloucester Road, Goldsboro, North Carolina, transitioned from labor to reward on Monday, June 24, 2013 in Hyattsville, Maryland.
He was born on September 14, 1953 to the late James Edward McIntyre and Dorothy Mae Middleton McIntyre in Wayne County.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 29, 2013 at 11:00 am at the Love Temple United Holy Church Headquarters, 201 North Oak Forest Road, Goldsboro NC with Apostle Dennis Jacobs officiating.
Private entombment will follow at Wayne Memorial Park-South, Dudley, NC.
Apostle McIntyre will lie in state on Friday, June 28, 2013 from 3:00-6:00pm at the Love Temple United Holy Church Headquarters’, 201 North Oak Forest Road, Goldsboro NC.
He was educated in the former Goldsboro City School and graduated from Southern Wayne High School a part of the class of 1971.
He then attended Sampson County Cosmetology School and Fayetteville Technical Community College, and later became a licensed funeral director. He received a doctoral degree of Doctor of Religious Philosophy from Tabernacle Bible College & Seminary in Tampa, Florida on July 20, 2002.
Apostle McIntyre was blessed to own several businesses which included: The New Look Beauty Salons I & II, Tiffany’s Ladies Apparel, First Ladies’ Clothing Boutique, Giovanni’s Men’s Clothing, and McIntyre Funeral Home & Florist with two locations, Goldsboro and Mount Olive, North Carolina.
The anointing and divine call of God was evident upon Apostle McIntyre’s life. He was chosen and ordained to the Office of Bishop on November 2, 1996. On October 10, 2004, he was commissioned to the Office of Apostle.
He pastored North East Free Will Baptist Church in Mt. Olive, Faith Temple #3 in St. Paul’s, NC, and he was the founder of Christ Memorial Ministries in Goldsboro, NC which was birthed on June 26, 1988. He was an accomplished author and hosted a radio show in Goldsboro and Mt. Olive called “Just a Voice Ministry.”
Apostle McIntyre was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Tiffany Chanel; two sisters, Gloria Jean Lewis and Patricia Edna Mae King; and one brother, Edward Earl McIntyre; one special sister-in-law, Linda “Goat” Bell.
He is survived by his loving and dedicated wife and soul mate of the home, Apostle Diane McIntyre; three sons, Jamison D’Andre, Justin LaMar, and Stephen Giovanni; one daughter, T’iarra Chanel; seven grandchildren; one sister, Melanie McIntyre Holmes; one brother, Leslie Middleton and wife, Faye; one sister-in-law, Carol Batiste, Goldsboro, NC; three brother-in-laws, William Bishop (Jessie) Altanta, GA, Michael Bishop (Carmen) Austin, TX, and Lonnie Bishop (Donna), Durham, NC; special friends, Derrick and Cleo Barnes, and Delores Knight; a very special pet, Fluffy Andrew; and a host of other relatives and friends.
