Age 80, passed away Saturday, June 22, 2013. Alice was born in Pewamo, MI on July 22, 1932, the daughter of Albert and Pauline (Thoma) Cook. Alice worked for and retired from the State of MI House Democratic Staff in 1986 and was an associate of Semrau Business Services. She was a member of St. Gerard Church, serving many years with the church choir. Alice, along with her husband, Larry, where members of the Knights of Columbus, Richard Council #788 Women's Auxillary, Eagles Lodge #1039 and Elks Lodge #196. She was an avid card player and gardener. Alice was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Larry, on January 5, 2013; daughter, Karen, in 2005; siblings, Katherine Miller, Jerome Cook and Helen Mosher. Surviving are her children, Robert Semrau (Karen Corsair) and Kathy Semrau; granddaughter, Natasha (Timothy) Beals; great grandchildren, Emma and Erika Beals; brother, Eugene (Donna) Cook; sister-in-law, Lucille Cook. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, 10:30 a.m., at St. Gerard Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. John Klein as Celebrant. Emtombment will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Palmer, Bush and Jensen Family Funeral Homes, Delta Chapel and Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until service times at the church. A rosary will be prayed Wednesday, 6:30 pm, at the Funeral Home. For those wishing, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Disease Association.
