Robert Anderson Dalton

Gretna……….Robert Anderson Dalton, age 89 of Gretna died Sunday, June 23, 2013 at Autumn Care Nursing and Rehab Center. Born November 16, 1923 in Pittsylvania County he was a son of the late George Dalton and Carrie Dalton Dalton. He was predeceased by two brothers, Oscar Woodrow Dalton, and Jessie (Mack) Dalton; and one sister, Louise May (Ann) Elliott. Mr. Dalton was an Army Veteran and retired from Label Weave and Universal. He enjoyed gardening, and yard work. He is survived by his wife Barbara Hall Dalton of the residence; one daughter, Sue Blackstock and her husband, Elton of Hurt; four brothers, Frank Dalton of Altavista, Roy Dalton of Gretna, Elwood Dalton of Gretna, and Harry Dalton of Evington; two sisters, Carrie Simpson of Danville, and Linda Tuck of Gretna; two grandchildren, Heather Causseaux and her husband, Chase of Fairfax Station, and E.W. Blackstock III and his wife, Alyssa of Hurt; and one great-grandchild, Ella Causseaux. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Thursday, June 27, 2013 at Colbert-Moran Chapel by Rev. Gary Phillips. Burial will follow in the Carl O. Moran Memorial Garden. The family will receive friends at the residence of his daughter, and son-in-law, Sue and Elton Blackstock, 3364 Glenland Road, Hurt. The family would like to thank the staffs at Autumn Care Nursing and Rehab Center and Centra Hospice for all the love they gave to Mr. Dalton.
