Evelyn L. Loser

Evelyn L. Loser, age 89 of Elwood, died Thursday, June 20, 2013 at Community Parkview Care Center in Elwood following an extended illness. She was born November 8, 1923 in Elwood, the daughter of Jacob W. and Mary A. (Weeks) Scott. Evelyn worked in production and inspection for the Continental Can Corporation in Elwood for more than 30 years and retired in 1982. She was a 1941 graduate of Elwood High School. She married Charles M. Loser on July 7, 1946. Evelyn was a member of the First Missionary Baptist Church in Elwood, and was formerly active in the Elwood Lady Elks. She enjoyed crocheting, playing Euchre, and was an avid sports fan - especially Indiana University basketball, the Indianapolis Colts, and the Indiana Pacers. Evelyn formerly enjoyed spending many winters in Okeechobee, Florida and spending summers at Dewart Lake in northern Indiana.

Evelyn’s family includes a daughter, Cheryl (husband Bill) Smith of Elwood; sister, Wilma Titus of Yorba Linda, CA; granddaughter, Lindsay Smith of Plainfield; brother-in-law, Jerome (wife Mary) Loser of Lafayette; sister-in-law, Charlene Nappo of Mountain View, CA; and several nieces and nephews including, Frances Warner of Elwood, Barbara (husband Jan) Chambers of Elwood, and Chuck (wife Mickey) Loser of The Villages, FL.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 54 years, Charles M. Loser who died July 13, 2000; and son, Kenneth Loser who died in 1975.

A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Monday, June 24, 2013 at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood with Rev. Josh Carney of the First Missionary Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow in the Elwood City Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 2 to 6 PM on Sunday, June 23, 2013 at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home.
