Duane K. Beckwith, 83, of Spring St., Corry, Pa., died on Saturday, June 8, 2013, at the Corry Manor. He was born on May 28, 1930 in Corry, Pa., to the late Claire Fileger Miller. Duane was raised and educated in Corry and attended Corry High School. He enlisted in the U. S. Army in 1948 and was in a Medical Evacuation Unit. When he returned to Corry, he worked as a machinist in various manufacturing companies. He most recently was a machinist for Corry Hiebert and retired in 1994. After his retirement, Duane drove truck and worked for North Hills Municipal Golf Course for 12 years as a grounds keeper. Duane was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Corry. He was also a member of the Corry Moose Lodge and Corry VFW Post #264. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and skeet shooting. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his step father, Louie Miller, and a sister, Maxine Smith. Duane is survived by his wife of 50 years, Janet M. Taylor Beckwith; two daughters, Karla DeLisio and her husband Carmen of Mentor, OH., and Karen Beckwith of Rocky River, OH.; and a sister, Shirley Beckwith of Cape Coral, Fla. He is also survived by two granddaughters, Crista and Reyna DeLisio and several nieces and nephews. There will be no calling hours or service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church, 607 W. Smith St., Corry, PA. 16407. Funeral arrangements are under the care of the Bracken Funeral Home, 315 N. Center St., Corry, Pa.
