Barbara J. Dunning

Barbara J. Dunning, age 58, of Kahoka, MO, died unexpectedly Sunday, June 16, 2013 in the emergency room of Keokuk Area Hospital.

Barb was born August 17, 1954 at West Point, IL, the daughter of Estel and Edna Goodwin Morss.

She graduated from Clark Co. R-1 High School in the class of 1972 and later on November 23, 1972, married William Dunning, Sr.

Survivors include her husband of 40 years, William Dunning, Sr. of the home; one son, William B. Dunning, Jr. (Stephanie Huggins) of Bloomfield, IA; one daughter, Jean Saxton (Dwayne Price) of Kahoka, MO; nine grandchildren: Ross and Ryan Saxton, Kristen, Brandon, Cheyann, Meagean, and Kaylynn Dunning, and Keagen and Jaden Campbell; one brother Roy (Pam) Morss of rural Farmington, IA (Anson, Mo area); two sisters, Ann (David) Dillard of Revere, MO, and Eldonna Steffen of Quincy, IL; brother-in-law, Mike Dunning of Hannibal; as well as nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her in-laws, Joseph W. and Paula J. Dunning; grandson, Tyler Saxton; and brother-in-law, Kevin Dunning.

Barb was a Q.M.A. Inspector for Norris Asphalt Paving. She and Bill had been owners of the Orbit Inn in earlier years. She enjoyed cooking, baking, and working in her garden. She also loved anything to do with horses. Most of all, she cherished time spent with her family and grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Thursday, June 20, 2013 at 10 a.m. at Wilson Funeral Home in Kahoka with Pastor Shawn McAfee officiating. Burial was in Kahoka Cemetery.

Memorials were suggested to the Clark Co. Senior Center.
