Delbert Lee Haan

U.S. Veteran

Delbert L. Haan, age 83 of White Cloud, passed away Thursday, June 13, 2013 at the Transitional Health Services in Fremont. Delbert was born on January 18, 1930 in Grand Rapids to Jacob and Josephine (Ringgold) Haan. Delbert married Janet Zuehlke on January 8, 1951 and she preceded him in death on May 10, 1994. He later married Iva Decker on April 28, 1995 and she preceded him in death on November 6, 1997. Delbert had been a heating and cooling specialist and installer for Economy Heating in Grand Rapids for many years until his retirement. After retirement, Delbert moved to the Diamond Lake area in 1992 where he had designed and built his retirement home and enjoyed spending time. Delbert had also been a Scoutmaster with the Boy Scouts of America for many years in Grand Rapids. Delbert also was a veteran of the United States Army where he served during the Korean War.

Delbert is survived by his daughters, Kathryn and Lisa Haan of Rockford; his brothers, Vernon (Joyce) Haan of Lake Geneva, Wisconsin; Versol (Lynda) Haan of Jenison; sister-in-law, Alta Haan of Jenison; many nieces and nephews; and his sweetheart of the last 15 years, Charlotte Anderson of Newaygo. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jacob and Josephine; his brothers, Donald and Roger Haan and his sisters, Doris Crum and Thelma Finch.

Memorial services will be held at a later date following cremation. Friends may consider memorial contributions to the Northland Baptist Church in Grand Rapids. “Now all glory to God, who is able, through His mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think” – Ephesians 3:20
